A: I’m based in Portland, Oregon, and licensed to provide therapy to clients who are physically located in Oregon during sessions.
I also offer training, consultation, and curriculum design services, which have different location requirements depending on the nature of the work. If you’re interested in any of those services, please feel free to reach out and we can discuss what’s possible.
A: We’ll meet through secure video using Jane, a platform designed for healthcare providers. You can join sessions from your computer, phone, or tablet using a secure internet connection and a quiet, private space where you feel comfortable talking.
Before your appointment, you’ll create a free Jane account and complete some intake paperwork. Make sure to log in a few minutes before our session in case you encounter any technical issues.
If you’d like more detailed technical instructions, Jane has a helpful guide here: https://jane.app/guide/how-to-join-your-1-1-online-appointment-for-clients
A: At this time, I offer exclusively online therapy through video appointments. This allows me to work with clients across Oregon from wherever I am.
I do sometimes provide in-person training and consultation services, but therapy only happens online.
A: Intake Session (60-90 minutes): $330
Therapy Sessions:
- 50-60 minutes (most common): $230
- 45 minutes: $172.50
- 30 minutes: $115
Payment is due at the time of service through Jane, which accepts all major credit cards.
A: I keep a limited number of sliding scale slots available based on financial need.
If cost feels like a barrier, you’re welcome to reach out and we can talk through options together. There’s no judgment–just a real conversation about what’s realistic for your situation.
A: Your appointment time is reserved specifically for you, so I ask for advance notice whenever possible if you need to cancel or reschedule.
- 48+ hours’ notice: No charge
- Less than 48 hours’ notice: May be charged 50% of session fee.
- Less than 24 hours’ notice or missed appointments: May be charged the full session fee.
If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, we may need to treat the appointment as a missed session depending on scheduling constraints.
I understand that life happens and unexpected situations come up. If something changes, please let me know as soon as you can.
A: I don’t currently bill insurance directly. However, I do provide super bills (detailed invoices with diagnostic and procedural codes) that you can submit to your insurance company for out-of-network reimbursement. Many insurance plans do reimburse for out-of-network mental health services, so you may be able to recover some or all of your costs.
I also provide a Good Faith Estimate before we begin, so you know exactly what to expect cost-wise.
A: A Good Faith Estimate is a document I provide that outlines the expected cost of your therapy based on the type and frequency of sessions you are requesting. It gives you a clear picture of what your out-of-pocket costs will likely be.
I provide this before we start, so there are no surprises. If your needs change (for example, you decide to meet biweekly instead of weekly), we can update the estimate.
A: Your first appointment is an intake session (60-90 minutes), which is different from regular therapy sessions.
Before we meet:
- You’ll complete intake paperwork (it’s thorough, but important)
During the intake (60-90 minutes):
- We review your consent, confidentiality, and your rights
- I ask questions to understand your background, history, and what brings you to therapy
- I take notes during our conversation
- If time allows, we begin developing a treatment plan
Why it feels different: The intake is about me understanding your full picture, not about diving deep into therapeutic work yet. We’re building the foundation.
Your second appointment (your first “regular” therapy session) is when we typically sketch out a treatment plan and begin working on what brought you to therapy. Most clients meet with me weekly, though this can be adjusted based on your needs.
A: The short answer: it depends on you and what you’re working on.
Some clients will find they have achieved their goals within 8-12 weeks, others might find it takes much longer to get where they want to be.
Therapy duration really depends on:
- What you’re working on–some things take longer to understand and shift
- What you want to accomplish–Do you want to feel better about one situation, or do you want to understand deeper patterns?
- Your capacity and timeline–How often can you show up? How much time and energy do you have to commit to this work?
- Your unique situation–Everyone’s journey is different
We’ll talk about this in your intake and develop a treatment plan together. There’s no set timeline–we work at the pace that makes sense for your situation.
